Today is Wear Red Day, to raise awareness about heart disease in women. Heart disease is a huge problem for women, but often presents differently than it does for men. We should all know the signs and symptoms of a heart attack, as well as how to reduce our risk of heart disease. It can happen to the best of us! Reading this interview (written by my friend Laura) helped drive home that this can happen even if we are otherwise healthy and active.
So I’m wearing the only red dress I own. I tried to get out of the bathroom mirror self-portraits, but Fidget is not a reliable photographer. Though, to his credit, this outdoor photo was taken during our second mini-photo shoot because… ooops… I realized after the first one that I was wearing the dress backwards. It’s the lack of coffee (though I do plan to go buy a coffee maker this weekend, now that our no-spend month is over). This is one of those occasions where this outfit is a lot cuter in person than in a picture. You’ll have to take my word for it.
The dress is from the Jason Wu for Target collection. I’m a big fan of it normally, but it’s not great when you’re breastfeeding. Luckily we were mostly close to home today so it wasn’t an issue. Also more more ample top half is less suited to the cut of the dress, but hey… it’s red. Heart disease awareness is bigger than my desire not to look like a linebacker.
I have done my part for my heart (see what I did there, with the rhyme?) today by getting in some cardio on the treadmill this morning, eating well all day, and tonight I plan on destressing by watching the series finale of 30 Rock and giving myself a manicure.
What are you up to this weekend?

30 rock helps me to destress as well!
