I have an appointment at the eye doctor in an hour. This is making me do a happy dance. I’m a weirdo. That’s cool.
But it’s been two years (actually more than that, don’t tell my optometrist) since my last eye exam. Which means it has been two years since I last broke a pair of glasses. Yes, I only get glasses when I break the ones I’m currently wearing. Much like two years ago, this time I snapped one of the ear pieces off my current pair. So I still have glasses, they’re just a little lopsided. And my prescription sunglasses (best investment ever) are starting to get totally scratched up. No bueno. Luckily for me both pairs are still functional. Plus I only use them for driving and television watching, so it isn’t like I’m in dire straits over here. (On the subject of Dire Straits, I am now in the mood to listen to Romeo and Juliet)
I’m trying to branch out a little bit with my glasses style. I always get cute but boring glasses. Now I want something just a touch more fun. My window for wearing youthful glasses is starting to seem limited. Maybe some of you think that it’s already closed but to you I say: pashaw!
These are the frames I’m thinking of getting. Slightly cooler than what I have now (and, you know, will have both ear pieces and all) but not so hipster that I look ridiculous. At least that’s my aim.
I’d ask for your honest opinions but I’m not really looking for that. I just want you all to reaffirm my choice. Let’s be honest, when we ask the internets things like this, isn’t affirmation what we’re really looking for?
They’re the Warby Parker Colton frames. I’m also looking to buy some sunglasses but I haven’t settled on a frame yet.
Hopefully in a couple of weeks I’ll be showing off my new glasses and my new sunglasses. At which point you will all tell me how fabulous they- and by extension, I- look. What is this blog if not a place to fish for compliments?
Any big plans for you today?

This whole post has me cracking up.

Totally.

My brother saw this post and texted me the following:
“So the new glasses- not a fan. But I only really see them a few times a year so I guess it’s ok.”
He did not follow directions.

Love them! Have you checked out coastal.com? They have a great tool where you can see the glasses on! xoxo

I just ordered a pair from Warbly Parker this week as well, after 5 years of having the same pair! Mine finally went missing but I’m guessing one of my family members hid them so they wouldn’t be embarrassed by how outdated they are. I went back and forth about which pair, and now you have me wishing I had tried these! They look great on you and I think they perfectly fit the description of what you want from the style.
I ended up with the Webb and the Duckworth. I figured I’d get two since the frames I picked out at the eye doctors were twice that! Which was not happening.
Let us know how you like the sunglasses when you pick them out.

I’m glad to know someone else had a good experience buying form them. I would get two frames if I didn’t have my broken ones as an emergency back up. New frames + new sunglasses should be fun though! I’ve loved trying them on at home- did you do the home try-on?
